Das letzte Treffen bei dem ich zu Besuch war, lag nun auch schon einige Zeit zurück. Daher bot sich das Treffen in Mainz-Kostheim natürlich an. Gegen 9:00 Uhr war ich vor Ort und fuhr zu Beutners, die in der Nähe des Bades übernachtet hatten. Ab 10:00 öffnete dann das Bad seine Pforten und wir konnten unsere Boote aufstellen. Die Tijgerhaai stand nun schon fast 10 Jahre auf dem Trockenen und musste nach der Umrüstung auf Lifepozellen unbedingt mal wieder ins Wasser. Das Bad selbst besteht aus 2 großen Becken. Die Überwasserschiffe fuhren getrennt von den U-Booten und so hatten wir ein Becken ganz für uns. Durch die Größe konnte man die großen Boote richtig ausfahren.
Der große Andrang von Publikum blieb aus, über den Tag verteilt kamen geschätzt etwa 100 Besucher vorbei um sich die Modelle anzusehen. Schade eigentlich, das Potential war auf alle Fälle da.
Da das Bad erst 2 Wochen später für Publikum geöffnet wird, waren daher auch keine Schwimmer in den Becken. Optimale Bedingungen als, zumal auch das Wetter perfekt war. Am Vormittag zeigte sich ein schöner Halo-Effekt um die Sonne.
Im Vorfeld des Treffens kontaktierte uns der Autor des Buches „LA MORSURE DU REQUIN“. Er macht mit seinem Buch gerade eine virtuelle World-Tour und bat uns ein Bild von seinem Buchcover mit einem der großen Pressluftboote zu machen. Die Aktion mussten wir natürlich unterstützen und so kam auch das Bild mit der Tijgerhaai zustande. Die Bilder sind unter dem Instagram Hashtag #lamorsuredurequin zu finden.
Um 16:00 endete das Treffen. Der anschließende Ausklang fand dann im Restaurant Rheinschanze mit Blick auf den Rhein statt.
Insgesamt muss man sagen, ein sehr angenehmes Treffen in erstklassiger Location. Die Örtlichkeit und das Bad wäre ideal für ein mehrtägiges Treffen, zumal unmittelbar neben dem Bad ein Campingplatz gelegen ist.

The last meeting I attended was quite some time ago. Therefore, the meeting in Mainz-Kostheim was a great opportunity. I arrived on site around 9:00 am and drove to the Beutners, who had stayed overnight near the pool. From 10:00 am, the pool opened its doors, and we could set up our boats. The Tijgerhaai had been dry for almost 10 years and definitely needed to be put back in the water after being retrofitted with Lifepozellen. The pool itself consists of two large basins. The surface ships operated separately from the submarines, so we had one basin entirely to ourselves. The large size allowed the big boats to sail properly.
The large crowd of spectators didn’t materialize, and throughout the day, about 100 visitors came by to see the models. It’s a shame, really, as the potential was definitely there.
Since the pool wouldn’t open to the public for another two weeks, there were no swimmers in the basins. Optimal conditions, especially since the weather was perfect. In the morning, a beautiful halo effect around the sun could be seen.
Before the meeting, the author of the book „LA MORSURE DU REQUIN“ contacted us. He is currently on a virtual world tour with his book and asked us to take a picture of his book cover with one of the large pressurized air boats. Of course, we had to support this initiative, and so the picture with the Tijgerhaai was taken. The pictures can be found under the Instagram hashtag #lamorsuredurequin.
The meeting ended at 4:00 pm. The subsequent wrap-up took place at the Rheinschanze restaurant with a view of the Rhine.
Overall, it must be said, it was a very pleasant meeting in a first-class location. The venue and the pool would be ideal for a multi-day meeting, especially since there is a campsite right next to the pool.
